Just because the Wii is not HD does not mean it was not first last gen.

No it wasn't, it was not a competing console. It went after a different crowd with different software.  I can't see how you can put them in the same race as the PS3 and 360. It sold casual electronic entertainment.

You can't expect recognition for running alone. 

You might be shocked to find out that Sony and microsoft also provide casual electronic entertaintment.

"They provide" is the giveaway here. Neither console was based on it.
