You're right and Wii U has benefited from it with YoY increased hardware sales. But the low appeal of those games is still such that even collectively those exclusives have no hope of putting Wii U in a competitive position with PS4 or perhaps even Xb one.
If you wanna actually compete you have to have the top 3rd party franchises. Plain and simple.
