I think its because we havent had an innovative jump in some time now and i dont think we will for a long time. Like you think SNES going to N64, or 2D going to 3D. That was a jump. Or when Halo changed FPS games, or when XBL and ONline was going crazy or pretty much the entire quality of PS360 compared to PS2/XB etc. Id say it has something to do with its hard to surprise us anymore because we have played it all
That an i think a lot of stuff was inflated last generation anyways so i dont mind as long as people get use to a new scale
