It's not the 2nd, it's the 3rd. DS sold 154 millions, and GameBoy 118 millions.

Gameboy and Gameboy colour togheter sold 118 million. I believe Ive read somewhere that GBC sold somewhere around 40M, the rest were GameBoy sales

The Color was the DSi to the DS. About 60 games were unique to the hardware.

 

To put that into perspective, there are about 120 Xbox 360 Kinect games.
