Fact is all things kept equal the proportion of smash potential buyers that don't have a Wii U yet even considering prior major ninty title are out is without a doubt smaller than the proportion of Halo fans that didn't yet purchase an XBO because of prior title such as forza... And lets be clear even if no game had released yet on either platform smash has no way the pushing power of a halo collection such as MCC this Gen...

Not trying to downplay smash or ninty since I like both and would gladly buy a Wii U if i had more time to play... But this are commonly accepted facts... With enough data to back it up

If you followed thew data so much, you should know there are still tons of mario kart fans that didn't purchase mk 8 (or even a wii u) yet. also, that both smash and mario kart have fanbases quite larger than wii u's current installed base. even if every single wii u owner was a smash buyer (hint, it's not even close, millions of current owners won't buy smash), there would still be 3m+ fans that didn't have a wii u.

many people simply wait untill the console has a good number of games they want.

taht's not what I'm arguing here.

I'm saying MK is more attracting  in the ninty fan base than Forza or most of the other title released on XB prior to halo and Smash is no match for MK. and therefore for Halo. if we had reverted the schedule SMash release with halo last year and today it'd be MK and say Forza I would have said MK will attract more people than Forza (without taking in consideration the appeal of both console in general and there pricing). So yeah no matter what Halo>Smash in HW pushing power but the fact that MK released before Smash is not helping ninty since MK already a big HW pusher in the ninty catalogue. of course everybody that like one or the other or both didn't buy a Wii U yet but same can be said about any console.

again I'm not trying to DOOM ninty, I love ninty I grew up with a nintendo and a gameboy, and I hope they'll find a way to come back and can't wait to see what they'll do next. but I do not believe a second that they have a big HW pusher with smash compare to halo especially considering that MK one of their biggest HW pusher already released.

same goes for XB after Halo MCC even with all the goodies I can't wait to play the next big HW pusher will be Halo 5 and maybe Gears but even that won't match Halo and there will be a ton of overlap in that case too....
