I can see the value case when you are only comparing consoles. If you want to discuss the appeal of the exclusives, well that is a taste question and mileage will vary.

I find Steam to be the single best value in gaming (I have to have a computer anyway), but I like console exclusives and have never regretted my day one Wii U purchase. But that is beside the point since this thread is only about the value proposition of consoles.

The other two consoles have not yet had an exclusive that has been worth the up front and continuing costs for me personally yet (that can easily change with a few titles).
