Nintendo doesn't release outright broken games, as per your Driveclub note.
If you think that critics aren't hyper-critical of anything from EAD then you're fooling yourself. They are the best of the best in the world, people will scrutinize their products to an exceptional degree because there is already an expectation of a solid, polished game.
