So first impressions of PSTV are very mixed. What is good, is brilliant, however the lack of game support is criminal. I can't believe Soul Sacrifice isn't compatible, even though they patched it for Vita TV in Japan.

The frame rate seemed a bit inferior on FIFA 13 (I went with a "HD Twin" game with 60fps target just to be mean) compared with playing on the regular system, I guess the upscaling was the main reason for that though.

Tried The Flying Hamster HD (love this game!) and wow, looks utterly stunning, very crisp and vibrant and smooth as butter. So 2D looks stunning on PSTV.

Just booted up Killzone Mercenary now for the final test and again, upscaling from the Vita is looking sound. Text is crisp and readable. In game graphics pretty solid though again, I think slightly lower than running on the regular Vita. Just don't expect the best in class Vita lookers to look as good on the big screen, (obviously expected) but you can definitely tell the models are lower polygon than say, PS3 games. Also textures are noticeably blurry in parts,. Shadows look jarringly pixellated too. But yeah, overall, definitely better than a PS2 and conclusively shows the Vita has grunt. I'm pleased overall at how well it upscales.

The Japanese imported goodness with gorgeous 2D artwork will excel, and with the art direction, I think the results will be far more pleasing than Killzone and the grittier games. PS4 pad is comfortable for the games too. They rejigged the controls on Killzone Merc well to work with Vita TV.
