Why would they? Devs have 1 fair chance  If they fuck up its their own fault.

That's a pretty narrow minded way to look at it. Let's put FF XIV as an example. The devs colossally fucked up that time, but instead of giving up on the game, they worked hard to fix it and now it is a beloved game by the community that plays it.

 

Second chances are not the devil.

And they were ridiculed for that, by gamers, which gave them incentive to get their act together, which they eventually did, aren't you tired of only having half a game working on it's launch?

No franchise should be immune to ridicule in aspects that it rightly so deserves, such as Halo's online aspects.

Besides, 343i have access to all of the Xbox's dirty little secret's, they have access to all of Microsoft's online infrustructure, they have untold resources in terms of money and man-power to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen.
