If Halo had always been a singleplayer only series you'd better believe that it wouldn't have gotten 6's, so a collection with all 4 singleplayer campaigns certainly doesn't deserve a 6. Multiplayer is getting better now anyway, got into about 6 matches in one hour. New patch coming on Monday I believe which should improve it a good deal more. |
Nah, the score is deserving.
Regardless of whether the singleplayer player is enough to atone for the shortfalls of the multiplayer is besides the point.
Halo is advertised as having a multiplayer component, there are people who live and breathe Halo's Multiplayer.
So it's only fair to have to have the score reflect where the game falls short and that's currently the Multi-player. (Especially as they talked-big on the games Multi before release.)
Besides, it's not just the Multi-player where things were buggy, people couldn't download the "app" to access the terminals in single player for days (I was one of them.)
Heck, I couldn't watch Nightfall either.
If these companies aren't/can't be ridiculed for where they fall short in a games release, then they will release their next game with the mindset that they can get away with it in future releases.
Besides, the "Multi-player connectivity" has only improved by 20% according to 343 industries, I still have only been able to get a single match (And that was a 3v4 match so it was unfair to begin with!), 343i have stated they expect the 19th for another patch to be rolled out, putting the game at 8 days with crap match making, it could go longer if the next patch doesn't fix everything.
That's simply unacceptable from a franchise like Halo where you expect a certain degree of quality control, this is a AAA, first party franchise remember.
