that doesn't really happen here. most people that shop at walmart would never leave their dollar behind in the cart.
The walmarts and most grocery stores around here use locks like this that require a loonie as deposit which you get back when you return the cart. if somebody does leave their cart theres always a kid who's happy to collect your dollar.
