Really? It just happens that I beat LoS2 yesterday and I didn't think of it as disappointing; though I pretty much prefer the first game overall.

Yeah I was actually really upset lol, the first game just felt more fantastical, the atmosphere was amazing and the pacing was great. I loved the sense of voyage, felt like I was on a vast journey across beautifully varied environments and it was packed with memorable moments wrapped in a beautiful original score and satisfying gameplay, also I sympothised with Gabriel Belmont's plight and was excited to see the conclusion to his story ... the sequel lacked the same soul and polish,  it was upsetting :( .... (make note, I'm very drunk, please excuse spelling mistakes and hyperbolic drunk sentiments)
