I have owned every Nintendo console except the Wii u(wait until it sells for $100 before buying)

Nintendo hasn't had real third party support since super Nintendo because they still had a monopoly on the console market (they did have some challengers but none of them got a real share of the market)

Once they lost their monopoly to the ps, since then they have been surviving off handhelds and Mario/Zelda.

The problem with this that the handheld market is their monopoly (please don't bring up vita) is challenged by mobile gaming.  It might go away as fast as their console business but it will eventually resort to Mario/Zelda which is a niche market.

They should be transitioning to a software only company, if they continue this path.

Then again this my opinion and I was to lazy to include any statistics to support my claims but still just my two cents

have fun waiting a very long time then :)

I would never want their games to be on another console. The other 2 systems have less of a reason d'etre than Nintendo because bascially they are just ordinary machines that existed in the same way for 30 years now.  And before this gen had nothing that seperated them form the competition or a gaming PC.  (optional stuff like EyeToy or Kinect or Move etc does not count since its purely optional)

So If anyone should go software only it should be MS and Sony before Nintendo.

I mean why not have it like this.
You want Sony games buy a $100 Sony USB dongle that is as offer even better security than e.g Cubase  (audio software)

Cubase eLicencer

Same with Microsoft and Nintendo. This way I have no problem at all.

If everyone would make games for PC I would be okay with that.  Sell your own controller and that USB dongle and voila.
But expecting the only console manufacturer that always had (exception being the Gamecube because of pressure from competition resulting in NO innovation at all.. so much for "competition is good") something that differentiates it from the rest is not plausible.

Sony MS and NIntendo can give recommended PC specs for their games so their games run as intended and everyone that has better hardware can simply play in higher resolution etc.
