Exactly if I told you that digital games would cost 10-20% less then retail. You might still want the retail version but the Digital version sunddenly much more attractive and Sony and Microsoft would actually make more money by selling the game digitally.
How many of us missed owning DVD, Music CD, VHS and even books. Sure the collectors are crying blaphemy but the average customers is much more happy going on netflix than having to spend $15-20 and going at retail to get a DVD.
Once Sony and Microsoft establish a big enough customer base... you will see the digital price greatly reduce. EA access is an early promised of that digital future. Many gamers have complained about EA access but where else can your access to six games and have access to five 6-hours full game trials for only $5. This is greatly going to reduce the cost of a hobby we all love and Sony and Microsoft revenue will actually increase has our cost go down.
