I always think it's a combination of a lot of factors. Because color games do still work. And examples are in this thread. But things like Time of release, peoples increase in ignoring advertisement, not willing to try new stuff out half the time, review sites making decisions for people, word of mouth, and which console are wining. Cause games to mess up very randomly.
