I guess if it's going from a higher end core2duo to a lower end core2quad the individual cores will be slightly slower if they're left on their own, you can ofc pay more to have the same core speed on all 4 as you have on both cores atm and the core2quads go up to 12mb cache size if you want to splash out a bit more.

Yeah, it seems I found Q8200 for dirty cheap in my city, so I think I'll try it. )


One thing I have to advise here, if you haven't replaced intel cpus too much make sure you watch a youtube vid about the way the pegs should be set up to go through the holes, you'll end up bending your board a lil bit if you try to force them through while they are locked open.
