The response to this wave of blockbuster game releases and new bundles has been amazing, and sales have skyrocketed since the new price took effect on Nov. 2. Compared to the previous week, Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled, which is exciting as more and more friends will be playing together this holiday. As we head into the busy holiday season Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks.  Shortly, we will have sold in to retailers more than 10 million Xbox One consoles.

I think the interesting thing to note is that Vice President, Yusef Mehdi, uses "sold in to retailers" for their shipment numbers but does not specify that it is sold to consumers for a sentence that is the same paragraph with shipped numbers ("Xbox One sales in the US have more than tripled").  It would seem wise to be very specific that this is sold to consumers instead of to retailers.

Again I would also like to point out the phrase "Xbox One led generation 8 console sales in the US for the past two weeks".  Are those sales to consumers or sales to retailers?  It seems very plausible that they shipped three times as many consoles as compared to the previous week.  Others have noted in this thread that the first week is from November 2nd to November 8th.  The other week that Microsoft is talking about would be November 9th to November 11th...just 3 days??  Well with the point that I stated above, it seems plausible that they could be talking about shipped console sales in the US for the past two weeks and not sold to consumers.  For it to be sold to consumers, then the second week would AT LEAST have to be finished through until the 15th.

Now I am not trying to downplay what Micrsoft has done.  But I can't be the only one to raise an eyebrow when they state that the XB1 has outsold the competition for the past two weeks when the second week hasn't completed yet...

Thoughts?
