even being an atheist myself I find it somewhat sad that you prefer the active renouncing of god over any of the following:

- Being close and intimate with your beloved (including, but not only sex)
- Eating a lovingly prepared meal with a good selection of wines, accompanied by your friends
- Listening to your favourite music
