Is the Wii U a good 2nd console

Looking at the 2014 games I've played. I've only played one game (DK Tropical Freeze) on Wii U. 

Looking into the future I feel PS4 and X1 have better lineups with their exclusive front than the Wii U coupled with 3rd party support, which IMO is greater than anything first party from the big three. 

You bought a Wii U but didn't get Mario Kart? Even I got Mario Kart for Wii U...

Just haven't played it yet. It got lost in the Summer shuffle from what I was playing
