Are Ubisoft gonna be this gens most hated developer/publisher?

It'll be Nintendo.

On the one side, people like curl will be pissed at them for one reason or another, and then from the other every other console owner (which will be millions) will be pissed at them for having all the good exclusives/games/60FPS/Captain Toad.
