Online pass was a U$10,00 paid for the MP part of some retail games... nothing remotely close to always online and used gaming access code costing the same as new game. If you wanted to bash Sony on DRM you could go further back in the past for the scandal on CDs.
And what about shareplay is similar to family plan besides people in another console being able to play a game you own?? (this was already possible 7th gen in both PSN and XBL for digital games, but limited to 5 then 2 users on PSN and don't know for XBL). Don't try to spin both items to fit your narrative.
