I'm thinking it's because of all the buzz it's generating in the gaming community, especially amongst journalists and critics. If it's as good as we're all hoping it will be, the result could very well be somewhere between Bayonetta 2 (a critical darling) and Mario Kart 8 (an established fan favorite). Positive reviews, a healthy amount of exposure via its E3 showing, and family friendly tone that resonates with a large portion of the user-base - something that Bayonetta 2 is missing - could very well push it into smash hit territory.
1.5-2.5m lifetime isn't out of the question. I would be shocked if it sold less than 800k.
Edit: Let's all assume the Wii U will have met or surpassed the 10m mark by Q2 2015, right?
