The Holiday Shopping season is almost here, and with it comes the biggest sales event of the year: Black Friday. And there will be plenty of PlayStation 4 offers around. While most retailers will make their own PS4 bundles, PS4Daily has learned that Sony is readying their own special Black Friday PS4 bundle.

According to our retail source (the same source who accurately leaked the Killzone Shadow Fall bundle last year), Sony has sent out notices to retailers to expect a new bundle to be sold on Black Friday. The company will offer a “massive PlayStation 4″ bundle that includes the standard 500 GB console and three first party games at a “very competitive MSRP”.

Sony recently revealed the “Triple Pack” PS4 bundle in Europe, which includes 3 games. The Triple Pack bundle was limited to Germany and only to a select few retailers. However, the Triple Pack’s price was anything but competitive: it retailed for 500 Euros, which translates into $620 USD. We expect the Black Friday bundle to cost a lot less.

A few months ago, we reported that Sony is readying a 1TB PS4 for this holiday season, but it’s unknown if the 1TB console will be part of a bundle or sold separately. The 1TB version is likely a response to Microsoft’s recent decision to cut the price of the Xbox One to $350 (without Kinect) and to offer a 1TB version as well.

Sony’s own PlayStation 4 Black Friday bundle will be joined by bundles that are thrown together by various retailers in order to move inventory on Black Friday. Clearly Sony is expecting this to be a big boost for PS4 sales, which is why they’re putting together their own bundle.

According to a report from sales tracker Infoscout, last year Sony lost the Black Friday sales battle against the Xbox One, largely due to more offerings from Microsoft. It looks like Sony doesn’t want that to repeat this year.
