I would disagree with the claim that Nintendo targets "A wide range of demographics". Quite the contrary, Nintendo appeals to a very small number of demographics, and these just happen to be some of the biggest ones.

And honestly, it doesn't really matter if there's little to set the PS4 and Xbox One apart. If either of them has a high-profile game that the Wii U doesn't have, then people are going to buy the PS4 or Xbox One, and not a Wii U. In this case, you could treat the PS4 and Xbox One as a single entity compared against the Wii U, and in this case, there is a LOT to set them apart.
