To be honest, Halo: Combat eveolved got the same treatment years ago.

it originally got 97 Meta

The rerelease got an 82 Meta

Could it just be that oponions change or perhaps that a game that is releaseing in 2014 should be held to 2014 standards?

What if you never played Halo before?

I can understand the lower review score for Halo: Anniversary as it didn't have any multiplayer, unless you had halo reach and even then it was just halo reach multiplayer on CE maps which angered a lot of people as they expected the original's multiplayer, plus it also had technical difficulties and didn't have as many improvements as this collection.
