If anything I expect this to be a thing for a couple months and then Activision opens it up when sales slow down. You're losing possible buyers if someone says "Oh I'll just play this game when my friend gets online and have him constantly accept the share play request until I finish the game." |
CoD primarily sells on its multiplayer, and since it lacks splitscreen, Share Play can't let the two people play together. A more likely scenario is one friend trying to get another friend back into CoD by letting him try out all of Advanced Warfare's new tools and exoskeletal manoeuvres.
CoD will do well either way, but it strikes me as a bad decision, especially since it's creating so much bad taste in the PS side of the community.
In fact, the only logical thing I can imagine is MS requesting that they turn off PS4's Share Play for the game as part of their very large payment terms. I hadn't considered it earlier, but your post made me do so.
