Of course, I agree, he can do whatever. But, as you said, He will not lie, cause he hates lies.
Actually, lucifer created the lie, in the Garden of Eden.
God will not lie, all the prophecies must be fullfiled:
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
