the fact that it's easier for newbie to get into doesn't mean it's not a hardcore games. SSBB in my opinion is a hardcore game too that features newbie friendly content. But the in-depth-ness (lack of better word) is what seperate the hardcore games from quick cash-ins. I forget you only read the first sentence and then comment since I did mentioned I play it with my friends and family though they may do it on easy. The point is everyone gets to play without needing much instructions. The singing doesn't even need instructions LOL. Basically you have to be color blind to have a hard time playing rock band. Only thing that can be somewhat hard is the drums but even then you still have two guitars and 1 mic that others can jump in and have fun. Hope that answers your question.
