It is an interesting analysis don't get me wrong but I see these things alot and they always fail to include Japan's data whic his pretty easy to get even if you don't use VGC.
Personally I feel global sales are what drives publishers to make certain types of games. Regional sales reflect regional interests. So shoot me for being a completionist.
This article was pretty good I am just gunshy from the constant NPD updates where they are US/360 focused while all other systems Wii/PS3/PS2/DS/PSP have global success.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
