I'm somewhat optimistic, for one simple reason: there isn't an overwhelming hype surrounding it. Sega seems to be expecting it to sell on its own merits, rather than hyping it to heaven with misdirection and attempts to sell it as "the game to revive the Sonic franchise"... and yet, they're also not hiding anything and are clearly still trying to sell the game to people. So it's neither a case of trying to pull the wool over the customer's eyes nor of sending it out to die.
