Unless shareplay fools games into thinking they are getting controller input from the local controller. But if a publisher has to actively block Shareplay and Shareplay is in fact a default that will always work unless deliberately blocked, then that's a pretty arsehole move from Activision, even though I acknowledge their right and freedom to be arseholes. Sooo, what if this Shareplay is a bit of a cunning move to reduce the burden of having to have huge numbers of PS4's built for PS Now? If your friend had a game, and you want to play it, you can use Shareplay and pay the PS Now rental fee and have full access, not just Shareplay access. Of course that requires your friend to switch on their PS4 and have the game running. |
Yup, thats probably exactly how the controller thing works. And how sony could make sure it works across all games. The only copntrol sony gave devs over the share feature of a game is to flag certain sections as spoiler zones so those sections can't be shared. What activition has done is basically extend that "spoiler zone" across the whole game. Thats why thats the error message you see on the PS4 when trying to shareplay COD:AW. I am guessinng theer is probably a way for devs to flag if its shareplay of game dvr.

I was under the impression that it would work with every game (until now), specially the new ones cause based on the threads and the news, as well as what quite a few people told me it would be for everygame but it doesn't appear to be that way. Maybe if people didn't tell me it would be for every game but rather said, it would be for the games which the publishers allowed, then I wouldn't have made that comment. Oh and, I am well aware that its not Sony's fault but one would think that ps+, a paid online service, would make sure something like this works on virtually every game, specially the new ones, cause on Steam, you can share AW with your family and friends, even the day zero edition (just the only catch is that two people can't play the game at the sametime). But who knows, maybe it really is cause its the day zero edition and they will get it sorted out |
Sony clearly said themselves that this is a system wide feature that will work on every game unless the publisher decides to opt out of it. I dunno why you are somehow trying to make this be sony's fault.Sony can but wouldn't force something like this on publishers. So its not sony's fault if some publishers chooses to support it or not.
