There's a lot of popular media that I think is bad, but that doesn't make it bad.

I'll bite. What does make something bad?

General opinion.

Everything that deviates from it becomes the "minority" opinion. Killing is bad, but just because most people think it is. If the general opinion was that killing isn't bad, and shouldn't be punished, we wouldn't consider it bad.

Not really a good example. Killing is bad because most people think it is, but the reason they think that way is because it is demonstrably bad on almost every basis.

But it can also be demonstratably good, when you kill a murderer, or child molester, ect. So then is killing really a bad thing, like video games there is a grey area. There are bad games that you can demonstrate why they are bad.

That's also not a good example. Killing in defense of others is one thing, but what you're describing smells more of reprisal, which is a different matter entirely. It is not demonstrably good.

We're getting a bit far-afield here. We can discuss this topic further elsewhere, if you'd like, but it's distracting us from what we had been talking about, which I continued in a separate post. :P

That depends on perspective.

Right on, seperate post it is.
