I agree that Sony hasn't done very well with its ad compaigns. Also, it seems even advertising as much as Microsoft does (seems 80% of the time I see a 360 add) and throwing out special offers doesn't always guarantee exceptional sales. The biggest thing to push the PS3 sales further would be hitting the "sweet spot" in pricing, which I don't believe they've hit yet. Seeing how weak the dollar is to the yen, it could be a long time until we see another price cut. Question: If you were a fence riding gamer, would you find a 40GB PS3 with current specs, only with DualShock3 and software backwards compatibility, no bundled game, attractive with a $399.99 price?
