Nintendo: From Nintendo I think we will see more system linking between the DS and Wii, (IE making Virtual Console games, downloaded from Wii playable on the DS. Nintendo will sell the DS and Wii under the same banner, until they are replaced by (lets say Wii2 and DS2) these new consoles, will naturally be very linked from the beginning, the DS2 will be backwards compadible with DS1 games, but will also use a propreatary DVD similar to the Gamecube's 8mm disks, which will also make it compatible to Gamecube games. The DS2 will feature the same 'channel' system as the Wii1, with the Virtual Console replaced by the Virtual Handheld which will offer, Game Boy (300 Wii Points), Virtual Boy (300 Wii Points), Game & Watch (200 Wii Points), Game Boy Color (500 Wii Points), Game Boy Advance (600 Wii Points), Sega GameGear (400 Wii Points) and NEC Pocketgrafx games (400 Wii Points) for download. The system will also feature a built in internet browser by Opera as well as applictions like a calculator, notepad and appointments. With a headset (sold seperatly) and a montly fee you qill be able to subscribe to Nintendo's 'Player's voice' servie, a form a VOIP, altough Nintendo will make it so that you can only communicate with someone who you have already exchanged freind codes, and only to other DS2's and Wii2's.
As for the Wii2, it will be a HD console, but will like the Gamecube and Wii before it will NOT feature DVD or HD-DVD or Blu-Ray movie playback. The innovation for this console will be a 'Game Director' channel, where u can create simple games, (maybe using your Mii's from Wii1) and upload these to a new User Created Virtual Console. One major update will be the addition of the Wii hard drive, 120GB internally, with a 500GB model availalbe as an external module. The console will be backwards compadible with Gamecube and Wii1 games, however Nintendo will add Gamecube and Wii1 games to the Virtual Console for 2000 and 3300 Wii Points respectivly. The console will be able to link to Nintendo;s VOIP service, but will also require freind codes. As for online, Nintendo will begin a new online community called (Mii and You) althoguh the service will come under critisisme due to strict issues regarding user interaction. The controller will br very similar to the Wii remote, but will feature rechargable batteries, and a talk pause button, as the microphone is intergrated into the remote, press the button to talk over Nintendo VOIP.
Well thats what I see in the future for Nintendo, agree with me or not, this is all speculation and opinion.
