I bought a console exactly because of your reason #3: Consumer type.
I unboxed it, connected one cable to the power source, second to the internet and third to the TV ---> ready to go in 2 minutes.
Actually, I did swap the HDD to a 1TB version, which took me 2 minutes, but also 60 minutes of watching youtube videos prior to purchase, because I have no clue about electronics and am not willing to take a PC apart and swap parts for it....
I believe that for 400€ I got the best value proposition, I can play hundreds of games without worrying if my machine can play them. I don't want or care for constantly checking specifications to see which games I can play...
Not only that I don't like gaming on the PC, I don't own a computer period. I have one at work for my work related needs. Everything I need in my private time is done on the smartphone or a tablet...for the last 3-4 years. Having no computer feels so...liberating....
