What's more, with game companies being companies as well as game designers, they're going to design games that will make them the most money possible, so we continually see elements from the top dudebro genre's creeping into series where it doesn't fit. Resident Evil 6 is a perfect example. The mainstream video game community is at an all time low in terms of game output and creativity, and the situation is made worse by the impending collapse of every major company due to the pressure to release larger and more profitable games. You want a new Dragon's Dogma? Too bad. Megaman isn't gonna grab the big bucks, don't waste time on it. F*ck Crash bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, we need more third person action adventure games because that's what sells to the dudebro epidemic. The only way the video game market is going to return to a more balanced place when the AAAs inevitably collapse and companies avoid becoming that bloated again, or we find a way to transmit AIDS through playing CoD. |
Why don't you make a thread regarding your concerns?
To OP: I really, really hope this succeeds. People in Japan have been doing this kind of B-tier work (like Compile Heart or Idea Factory or Koei Tecmo, or...the list goes on, really) for quite some time now.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
