Yes I was, but more importantly I was talking about the choice all devs seem to be making these days. Thing is that any and every game can run at 60fps. It ust comes down to what you are ready to give up to make that happen. Lower framerate, less complex geometry, less post processing effects....etc. So basically devs are constantly having to choose between maxium possible eye candy and higher framerates. They all apparently are choosing the former over the latter. Nintendo runs most of their games at 60fps (not all of them) but that is also cause they run them at 720p with simplified geometry and minimal to no post processing effects. The games on the PS4/XB1 are leaning towards higher rez, higher IQ but then taking a framerate hit and settling for 30fps. 30fps seems to be fast becoming the industry standard. |
Nintendo runs their games at 720p because the hardware just isn't up to snuff. The PS4/XBONE struggle with 1080p gaming (more the latter.) If Nintendo had the hardware I'm sure their games would be at a minimum 900p at 60fps (not all games, but many.)
