Is ninja gaiden a system seller?

Although one is a remake, and the another was on the xbox which didn't sell many consoles in Japan. But going by those numbers, Ninja Gaiden isn't very mainstream in Japan. Maybe the NES games were, but not now.

 My dominant word there is more. Its for the sake of argument of the OT, MS will hope it will push relatively more systems than normal in Japan, but its not a system seller elsewhere.

Japan Ninja Gaiden Sigma first week sales: 44k, total 90k

Japan Gears of War first week sales: 34k, total 80k

Imagine if it was this ratio in the rest of the world.
