DmC never existed to me. So i will compare GoW to the original Dante's trilogy.
Which had the better setting? God of War. Mythology, man! Wish Santa Monica will make a new trilogy with Egypt instead of Greece.
Which had the better characters? I love Kratos, he's a total ass. But Devil May Cry had better companions. For the boss, maybe a tie.
Which had the better first game? God of War. I like the gameplay, the setting and the music more.
Which evolved more in the later years? GoW. He evolved without changing. But after 3 main chapters, 2 psp awesome psp games and a prequel (plus a original online) it needs a little bit of rest.
Which had the better games? GoW.
Bonus - Witch generated the best clone? GoW... Dante's Inferno.
And the GoW music are epic.
