By the way.  The zune had a better quality of sound than the ipod.  Much better, so you are wrong in that regard too.  This fact is pretty universally accepted on audio websites the world over.

But to the mass market of the people who were buying them did that matter? No. The Ipod was the more convienent means to the same end.

The main difference here is that the PS4 plays games better than the Xbox One. But the point the OP is trying to make is that the Xbox One has already been relegated to the status of "the other console" and that simply dropping the price or upping the value won't solve that.

I didn't say it did matter.  I was just correcting him.  He is bringing a crappy analogy and using false information also.

Why is it a crappy analogy? What makes the situations so different?

The measure.

The ipod had 75% marketshare that eventually rose to over 90%.

This isny remotely similar.  The ipod didnt just have the cool factor, it had almost 100% mindshare.

This isnt remotely the case with the PS4 and ONE despite how much some of you might think it is.

I figured that would be your reason. Though the scale is different the situation is largely the same.

Also, by the end of the gen the PS4 might have something like 60-70% market share if your just talking about PS4+XBO

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
