Gens are decided early, as some said first to 10 million wins. Peoples perception in near impossible to change about a product, that's why sometimes a successor debuts really early.
Also sometimes one just has the others number, Mustang owned all other muscle cars for decades. Coke rules cola and PS4 is console gaming for the gen.
