Advertising a product that people don't want in the first place doesn't magically make them want it. There are 160+ million PS3/360 owners, Nintendo making another PS3/360 class system and getting crappy third party support on top of that, simply does not appeal to a lot of people.

People described the Wii situation in much the same way (Nintendo made a PS2/XB class system with crappy third party support)... and we all know how that turned out.

Your assertion that people don't want the Wii U in the first place comes not from fact, but from personal opinion... that YOU don't want it. The original claim being made was that everyone thought the Wii U was just an add-on for the Wii (an absurd claim to begin with)... and now, in contradiction to that, the same people assert that nobody wants a Wii U "in the first place".

The fact that Bayonetta 2 is getting a massive amount of attention, the fact that games that many people are touting as "game of the year" are on the Wii U as exclusives, says that you're wrong, and that it's not about whether people "want" a Wii U, it's about perceived value... just like any other product.

So please, save your console war mentality for places where it belongs. Like the sewer.
