I think the argument is just that it makes little sense to argue over the exact terminology if the meaning is close enough. It would be like if I were to say "obama being the first black president is a monumental step forward", and someone was like, there have been plenty of black presidents in other countries. He's not the first black president. It's like, yeah, but I didn't need to say "of america" for you to get what I'm saying.
Not trying to be off-topic.
It's just like if you have an argument with someone and their rebuttal is pointing out a spelling mistake.
