Wii U will be fine. It might end up around or a little below GameCube's final total, but that doesn't matter. Every console generation is different. What matters is whether the people who own Wii U's are buying lots of games and spending their money on Nintendo's software and accessories. Even if the Wii U only reaches ten million in the US LTD by 2017, what will make the difference between financial success or failure will be how engaged the player base is. If Wii U has a high attach rate and lots of customers are buying DLC and accessories, then Nintendo can profit from Wii U.
