Nope, but when I do, I'll pay damned close attention to what they're doing. It's not society's job to raise a child. I read my first Stephen King book at age nine and watched A Clockwork Orange at eleven. My parents were of the opinion that if I could comprehend what was happening and deal with it in a rational manner, it was acceptable to let me explore somewhat questionable material. I will do the same for my children. |
I hope you will be thee for them to always protect, but knowing that you are human (well if you go by AOA your actually some type of lizard) you will make mistakes, and at some point something will get by you and reach your kids…
Say for instance you turn on a cartoon for them to watch that normally isn’t bad and leave the room to make lunch…while you are gone one of the characters of the show rapes another…completely out of the blue and total off key from the normal show…wouldn’t you want some type of censorship here?
Why would you want to stack the deck against yourself….would you want every break you can get on you side?
