Definitely next year. At the rate MS is going we could even see 249 next holiday

$250 is my personal opinion for what it would take for the X1 to have any chance of catching up to the PS4.  It is noticably inferior to the PS4 in just about every single way, and consumers know it.  At this point $300 just looks like paying less for a lot less.  At $250, price/perf starts to even out with the PS4.
