The issue isn't resolution. Resolution was promised to gamers by both Sony and Microsoft. It was a lie. A bar they set to high to oversell their consoles. Now, they're trying to tell us resolution no longer matters when gamers were never concerned about resolution to begin with.

never concered about resolution?  Ever since Sony gloated about "True HD" and 1080p, the Sony fanboys have just went nuts.  But its not like the resoulation talk was never talked about prior to this gen.

It was. It's just gone from a footnote to becoming a monster and even having a name in "resolutiongate!"

It's sending a bad message to the devs, IMO.

All its saying is "I payed hundreds of dollars for this new console that has many of the same games as my last one. Please make it worth it with better graphics, framerate and resolution"

If we're talking next-gen only games that are 900p or 720p in order to push more graphics or something, that's fine. But that's not the case here. The problem is that PS4 can easily do 1080p while the Xbox One struggles with it in multiplats. People who shop online or participate in forums like to compare products. That's just the way it is. The best way for Microsoft to deal with this is to say "so what? we have a lower resolution but look we have these games that are only available on Xbox and the more stable XBox Live". A little honesty goes a long way. Its far past the time to try and keep this a secret.

For a guy named techhead, you really seem to not know how weak both consoles are. If you want 1080p 60fps every game, get a somewhat decent pc.

The PS4 can't do both "easily". Well, unless it's a port from last gen or an indie title.
