I disagree with the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings being cons against Truman. The use of the atom bombs was necessary to avoid a prolonged Japanese campaign that would've taken more lives. It's also worth noting that Truman refused using more bombs at Korea even though he was advised to do so.

More bombs on Korea? Was that during WWII or the Korean war?

What I meant is that some of Truman's advisors were discussing the idea of using atom bombs in the Korean war. It was always a possibility but Truman wisely avoided using them because of the domino effect it would've had.
