how me a single movie with a storyline a deep as MGS2 or Xenogears. There isn't one, because you cannot present the scope of such games in a 2 hour movie. Most movies are either time waster blockbusters or they try to be emotional and classy and I don't enjoy either of those those types of movies. While with movies there's an unwritten rule that it muwt be presented in a 2-3 hour timeframe video games can have cinematics that are 3-4 time longer than your average movie allowing for much deeper exposition and lengthy meanderings -creating a more fleshed out experience. As for books, I enjoy and read many non fiction books but can't stand fiction stories unless it's visualized which help me relate more and take everything in clearer. My immagination is on the lazy side.

Easy. Actually, these movies are leagues beyond anything either of those games offered when it comes to challenging the grey matter.

2001: A Space Odyssey
Citizen Kane
Magnolia
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
No Country for Old Men
American Beauty

... anything by David Lynch or David Cronenberg.

I could keep going on for days with lists of movies more thought-provoking and intelligent than any video game ever created.

BTW, you should really give up on preaching the intelligence of MGS2 or Xenogears when you admitted that you won't even read a book. If you had any idea just how much you're missing out on when it comes to intelligent discourse in entertainment, you would shut the hell up and immediately go to your local Barnes & Noble. Shit, I can't even quote a great Dickens passage to you to and have you understand much less any great philosophy texts from the past, oh say, 3,000 years.
