Honestly, I'd rather play my legitimate Wii games on dolphin (or my Wii if I didn't have dolphin) than buy them again and play them on the 3DS (with a few exceptions.) I'm not interested in playing console games on handhelds. I'm interested in playing handheld games on handhelds. I don't see myself playing Xenoblade on the bus like I play Shin Megami Tensei IV or Bravely Default (which have more bit-pieced content.) Meanwhile, I love playing Xenoblade without jaggies in 1080p 8xAA, and in the future probably with an enb hack on my new PC at full speed with no/few glitches. Same is true for the Metroid Prime games and console Zelda games. I am skeptical how well this will work (profitability) for Nintendo. Possibly Nintendo hopes to give some games more exposure to new 3DS audiences who haven't experienced them before while maintaining the few dedicated fans who are willing to purchase the games again in order to play on the 3DS. I say all this, despite the 3DS being my favorite platform of this generation. I do have to say that it was smart for Nintendo pick Xenoblade though. It was a game that had and still suffers(ed) from shortages. An digital release for the new 3DS allows as many people to download it as possible, and allows for the series to gain a boost in recognition.
